HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE
Health and social care may sound like a course for social workers and nurses, but it has a much wider relevance than that. The qualification features a mixture of exams (multiple choice, short and long questions) and you’ll produce a coursework portfolio each year.
Double: eight units over two years, of which three are examined.
Triple: 13 units over the two years, of which four are examined.

WHAT YOU'LL STUDY
Core units could include: human lifespan development; working in health and social care; enquiries into current research in health and social care; meeting individual care and support needs; promoting public health; and principles of safe practice in health and social care. Plus lots of optional units to choose from.
ASSESSMENT
- External Assessment – Approximately 50%: Formal exams or externally set tasks, assessing your core knowledge and understanding.
- Internal Assessment – Approximately 50%: Coursework, including assignments, case studies, research projects, and skills demonstrations.
