We joined colleagues from across Co-op Academies Trust at Aintree Racecourse on Friday 28 November for our annual Recognition Awards. The evening brought together staff from all 38 academies to celebrate the people who make our Trust such a special place to learn and work.
Some of our qualifications are changing. From September 2026, large BTECs will no longer exist in Applied Science and Health & Social Care.

A one-year full-time programme of study for students who need to resit their GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths in order to access a Level 3 course or employment in 2026.
Manchester has been awarded a Silver Category Award in the Pearson National Teaching Awards for its Post-16 Pathway Partnership, which sees the council working in collaboration with education and training providers across the city, to support young people to gain the qualifications and skills they need to help them access good jobs in the future.
Last night, we ran our first college Iftar which was attended by over 60 students and staff.
Iftar is one of the religious observances of Ramadan, where members of the Muslim community gather to break their fast together.
In October 2024, a group of our ambitious and enthusiastic students embarked on a journey to become Co-op Young Leaders. The programme—designed to cultivate leadership skills, teamwork, and community engagement—prepared them for a year of impactful activities and personal growth. So far over 50 students have completed the training and we expect to train at least a further 40 students this year.
