The five local primary schools that we welcomed to Connell:

The event saw teams of young mathematicians navigate a series of rounds designed to test logic, teamwork, and speed:

• The Group Round: Collaborative problem-solving.

• The Shuttle & Relay: High-energy rounds where quick thinking is just as important as accuracy.

Fairfield Road Primary School were this year’s winners, beating off stiff competition from the other four schools. Congrats Fairfield Road!

Connell students helped to organise the event and mentored the younger teams. They also managed the scoreboards and acted as ambassadors for the college.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our brilliant students as leaders and role models," says Helen Williams, Maths Teacher at Connell and event coordinator. "Their support is what makes this outreach possible, and it's wonderful to see them inspiring the next generation of mathematicians from across our local Co-op and community schools."
