VIP Carabao Cup Final Experience For One Lucky Student

One of our Year 12 Sport and Exercise Science students, Eva, was chosen by City in the Community (CITC) to experience a VIP day out at the Carabao Cup Final.

Eva was chosen based on her extensive volunteering roles in grassroots football – coaching, refereeing and more – to help her local club, Glossop North End (who she also plays for).

Eva describes her day out: “I had the best day. It really was an unforgettable experience! I’m so grateful to CITC for the opportunity to represent them at Wembley as a VIP at the final between Man City and Arsenal.

“It was such an amazing experience and gave me a fantastic insight into how big the football industry is. I got to see the Carabao Cup, meet ex-players and pundits, and go behind the scenes into the Royal Box, press conference room and media suite. Paul Dickov presented me with a Carabao Cup ball signed by all the players, and it blew me away.

“I was also interviewed by ITV for their EFL show, as well as giving other interviews where I spoke about my journey and ambitions in football.

“This experience has made me even more determined to build a career in football and help create more opportunities for women and girls involved in the game.”

Congrats Eva – well deserved!
