Exam Results and Performance
We’re Manchester’s number one sixth form college for Destinations.
According to the Department for Education’s (DfE) latest measures on destinations, we perform better than any other sixth form college in Manchester. We also score ‘well above average’ on the DfE’s measure for progression after level 3 study.
Our 2025 A Level and BTEC results:
- 95% pass rate
- 64% achieved all grades A*-C or D*-M
- 40% achieved all grades A*-B or D*-D
- 24% achieved at least one A* or D*
- 70% achieved at least one high grade A*-B or D*-D
- 94% of triple BTEC students achieved high grades, DMM or higher
- 85% of students progressing on to university

Our 2024 results:
- 95% pass rate
- 61% achieved all grades A*-C, or equivalent
- 29% achieved high grades A*-B, or equivalent in all of their qualifications
- 34% achieved at least one A* or equivalent
- 71% achieved at least one high grade (A*-B A Level or D*-D BTEC)
- 86% of triple BTEC students achieved high grades (several were awarded places at prestigious Russell Group Universities)
- 84% of students successfully applied to study at university

Our 2022 results:
- On average, our students achieved half a grade higher than they were expected to compared to other sixth forms across the country for our BTEC courses.
- Science is one of our real strengths. For example, students on our Applied Science course, on average achieved one and a half grades higher than they were expected to compared to other sixth forms in the country.
- Benefitting from a great relationship with the Co-op, students on our BTEC Business course, on average achieved one grade higher than they were expected to compared to other sixth forms in the country.
- We’re committed to sustainability and students entering jobs in the ‘Green Economy’. Our A Level Geography results were in the top 10% of the nation’s results for progress in 2022.
- Students studying Sports Exercise Science and Sports and Performance were all in the top 25% of national performance for progress. We work closely with MCFC, Nuffield Health and GLL to provide excellent work-related learning opportunities for students on these courses.
- We have a strong offer in facilitating A Level subjects for Law, with A Level English Literature, Business, History and Sociology students all achieved on average higher than expected progress.
- We buck the national trend as our disadvantaged A Level students outperform their peers. We work hard to ensure that a student's background never limits their academic performance.
