Student Spaces

Our timetable is designed to be efficient so that students don’t have dead time or ‘free’ periods between lessons. We have several spaces to work or socialise across college.

The Refectory

It’s open from 8am until 3pm serving food as well as providing space to socialise and work. You can buy breakfast, lunch or snacks using cash, cards or your free school meals allowance.

The Hive

It’s open from 8.30am-4.45pm and staffed by a member of our student services team. You can use the laptops and work on your own or with friends. We run lots of student events in the Hive so it’s a great place to meet friends and get involved.

The Destinations Hub

This is where our progression team and Destination Manager are based. You’ll come to see them for next steps and careers advice. We also have lots of books that you can borrow. One part of the space is reserved for silent study, the other is used for 1-2-1 careers advice meetings.

The Beehive

You can visit the Beehive if you’re worried about something or you need some help or advice. It’s a confidential space that’s staffed by a mental health first aider and it’s open daily during lunchtime and after college.

East Manchester Leisure Centre

Students get free access to the gym and pool at the leisure centre across the road from college. You can use it whenever you want: daytime, evenings, weekends and during the holidays.
