Enhance your Experience through Football

If football is your passion, we have the opportunity for you! You will develop your footballing skills alongside your studies. Students studying either Sport, Coaching and Development or Sport and Exercise Sciences can join our specialist football training and development programme which is delivered by our partners City In The Community (CITC).

We all share a passionate commitment to excellence. Our aim is to develop good people on the pitch and in the classroom. Students who join this training and development programme will take part in football training and matches as part of their timetable every day.

This pathway can be added on to either of our full-time (triple) Sport BTECs to enhance your experience through football.

Our coaches are all qualified to UEFA B level, to improve players’ knowledge, understanding and game management. Each of the sessions are set at a level to challenge the individual, where there’ll be different themes. These will be split over the session, where you’ll regularly take part in the different themed topics and end the session with a conditioned game.

Over the season you’ll be completing in the AOC and National Youth League.

You’ll play many well-established football clubs, where the aim is to raise standards for and aspirations of talented football players in full-time education and outside of the Academy system. All of our clubs work hard to ensure that their players develop as well-rounded individuals with a strong focus on academics and developing other opportunities around their football to give them life skills.

Students will play in the City in the Community BTEC league as well as national cup competitions. You will also undertake various qualifications relevant to the course. There are volunteering opportunities available to you, including CITC events, disability sports and school events.

Learner work is assessed and marked internally using a broad range of assessment methods. Marked work audits will be completed on a regular basis throughout the duration of the course to ensure consistently high levels of Quality Assurance. Each individual unit is graded Pass (P), Merit (M) or Distinction (D).
